Our
comprehensive school guidance program is predicated on the belief that
all students are unique and dynamic individuals, capable of becoming
responsive and productive adults, engaged in life-long learning. The
Guidance Program aims to provide students, teachers, parents,
administrators, and other members of the school community, with
services/programs that are aligned with the school’s philosophy as
summarized in the Expected School-wide Learning Results (ESLR’s).
We have two full
time high school counselors at Brent International School
Manila. Students are assigned to counselors based on
their surnames. The counselors are
responsible for students' academic, and personal counseling throughout
their four years of high
school and eventually
college/university counseling. This
format was chosen with the view that students
and families will be able to develop a relationship with their
counselor throughout their high school years.
It is important to
get to know your counselor and to allow your counselor to get to know
you. Even if you don’t have anything you
necessarily want to speak to a counselor about, it is a good idea to
stop by on a regular basis to chat.
