Brent End of Year Shoe Drive

Dear parents,

As we finish up the academic year and anticipate the upcoming holiday, we would like to ask our Brent families to participate in a Shoe Drive to benefit children in our local area who are members of our Brent Chapel community.  We are asking for our students and their families to donate footwear that can be worn with a school uniform or be used in PE class.  We know many kids are outgrowing their school shoes about now and will be purchasing new ones in August for the next academic year.  If this is the case in your family, please consider donating shoes to our shoe drive.

How does this work?

During the week of May 21-25, your child is welcome to bring shoes to school to place in the donation boxes. On the day your child donates a pair of shoes, he/she can wear any kind of shoes with the school uniform on that day only.

We will be accepting donations of shoes in the final days of school as well, but STUDENTS MUST BE IN FULL UNIFORM (including shoes!) during those days. On the last day of school, we will have donation boxes placed in the bus boarding area in case kids want to leave behind their school shoes before heading home to start their vacation. They can pack a spare pair of shoes for the bus ride home.

We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to help your child give to our local community. We look forward to seeing this project become a success as a result of your generosity!

Please note the following:

  • Students must be in full uniform (including uniform shoes!) during last days of school, May 29&30.
  • Shoes can be new or used and we are requesting sizes 3-13 for kids and sizes 4-9 for adults.
  • We are also accepting school supply donations (book bags, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, pencil cases) and monetary donations for uniforms and/or college scholarships. For these donations, see Mr. Trajano in room U202.

Thanks to the students of next year’s Senior Class Council, of this year’s Community Club and NHS who worked on the coordination of this drive.

Congratulations, All!

As we bring the 2011-2012 school year to a close, we want to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to the many individuals who helped make this school year so successful. Certainly our talented and energetic students, their equally talented and professional faculty, the helpful and dedicated parents, and our most amazing and loyal support staff have all contributed to this success. As we say thank you to all, we look forward to even bigger and better accomplishments next year and beyond.

We salute the Class of 2012! They have provided our school with leadership by example, with enthusiasm, with attention to academic rigor, and with incredible energy in the many other facets of Upper School life here at Brent. We challenged them at the beginning of the year to be the leaders in our school and they have not disappointed us one bit. Wherever they may be heading next year, we wish them well knowing they are well prepared academically and spiritually to meet the challenges awaiting them. Thank you, Seniors; God bless you all!

To our valued faculty members moving on next year, we likewise take this opportunity to honor their contributions to the total life here in Brent Upper School. Several of our veteran faculty members will be leaving us this year including Annabelle Laroco, Marjory Alcantara, Arthur Casanova, and Jim Richmond. We congratulate and thank them for their many wonderful years of selfless service to the students of Brent School. Eloisa Munden, Regine de Blegiers, Yu Mei Nakpil, and Pauline Varanal will also be leaving Brent School for other challenges next year, and we wish them all the best. Thank you for your passion, your expertise, and your concern for student learning that has marked your tenure with us!

To the students and parents leaving Brent and changing locations this summer, we thank you for your many and varied contributions to the success of this school year. We also want to wish you every success in the future and we look forward to hearing from you from time to time. After all, “Once a Brent family member, always a Brent family member!” To those returning to us next year, please travel safe and return to us energized and ready to meet the challenges of a new school year. We wish you all a safe vacation!

As we prepare to meet the challenges of the 2012-2013 school year, we do so with the confidence that dedicated and talented individuals surround us on all fronts. We look forward to those challenges knowing we are all focused on doing what is best for Brent School and for the students we serve. Again, our congratulations and sincere appreciation for the many contributions each Brent family member has made this year. We are definitely a better place because of you!

College And University Acceptances

Linked to this page is a list of our Grade 12 students and the colleges and universities into which they have already been accepted for their tertiary education. This list is based on those Seniors who have updated their college acceptance information on their Naviance account. Those Seniors who have not yet updated their acceptance information on Naviance, Please do, so the Brent community can celebrate your success with you! Congratulations to all those Grade 12 students who have already received notification of university acceptances!

Seniors, to remain in good standing and allow us to speak positively about you to the different colleges and universities to which you are applying, you need to complete this year in the same manner you began it and the same manner in which you were accepted. You could be “unaccepted” if your record is not as strong as it was when you were admitted. Unfortunately, we have had a few Brent students from years past who have learned the reality of this lesson the hard way, despite our advice. Think seriously about this issue right now!

Now Accepting Applications For New Students
For The 2012-2013 School Year

Once our office receives the complete application, a day can be scheduled for your child to take Brent’s entrance exams and be interviewed.
