Testimonials

For prospective families with the important task of choosing a school that is the best fit for your family, reading through the comments here from Brent parents can be helpful.

We have had five children graduate from Brent, and we have two here now. It has been great for our kids to become friends with other kids of 40+ nationalities. They now have friends literally all around the world.

Our kids have grown greatly in their academic skills at Brent, and we have greatly appreciated the EXTRA TIME the teachers and coaches have spent mentoring our kids. We also appreciate Brent's emphasis on citizenship, not just academics and sports. It has been extra special for our kids to be a part of Brent's sports and singing teams that have travelled all over Asia.

Our kids learned to appreciate Brent even more after they spent a year at a good school in the US.
--John, American, grades 6 and 9 children

The small class sizes and wonderful atmosphere at Brent have contributed positively to my children's adjustments to living in a foreign land, as well as increased their confidence. This has shown up in improved grades and well socialized children.

The school team (admissions staff, counselors, principal, etc) is extremely helpful and welcoming. They make the experience of international living and schooling virtually painless!
--Avon, Canadian, grade 3 and Kindergarten children

Brent excels at academics. My child feels that Brent School is like home.
--Edith, Filipino, grade 12 child

My son has grown in several areas during his two and a half years at Brent. Academically, he has become even more independent and capable of accomplishing daily and long-term projects, and has acquired more strategies and skills for classroom work and exams. The international flavor has been a good learning experience, especially relating to teamwork both in the classroom context as well as in sports.
--Craig, American, grade 11 student

My son has matured in his view of world issues and people through his Model United Nations involvement. The IB diploma program has taught him to be resilient and steadfast in finishing the rigorous requirements of the course.

Brent has a family-oriented atmosphere where all sectors of the community work in harmony to ensure the success of the school. Brent has accessible and compassionate administration, dedicated teachers and hard working staff who go the extra mile to help students succeed.

Lifelong relationships are formed here. Brent students love to come back and visit! Brent brings out the best in our children by providing activities suited to their individual needs - academic, community service, sports, and leadership opportunities.

My son feels the best decision we made was to send him to Brent.
--Annabelle, Filipino-Canadian, Grade 12 child (and eldest son graduated 2007)

Brent is friendly and flexible, and accepts all nationalities and personalities.

My grade 7 boy has become less hesitant to share his opinion in front of other people. I’m serving as a PTA member to show my thankfulness toward Brent!
-- Asumi, Japanese, grades 7 and 5 children

One of the things that impressed us most about Brent was that we felt the teachers really took the time to get to know each of our children. They were there to help them celebrate their successes, and they were there to help them with though their challenges. The teachers at Brent have a way of making each child feel special and important. We were very impressed with the Brent Pride Award Ceremony that is held each week during Chapel Time. This program was great at instilling a sense of character and pride in each child, and gave the children a chance to share in the achievements of their peers.

We can honestly say that for the three years we were in the Philippines, Brent exceeded all of our expectations. It was a lovely school, and we are so pleased that our children were able to learn and grow in such a caring and supportive environment. If our children could have brought Brent with us to China, they would have!
--Victoria, American, grades 5 and 2 children

The IB Program has been a good challenge for my child. He has learned to be more independent and speak his mind. Brent's best qualities are that the students are well mannered and polite, and the teachers and administrators are always open to discuss your child. The chapel services and Christian atmosphere is another positive quality.

My son has absolutely enjoyed his experience at Brent, starting from the first day 11 years ago. After graduation, he will miss his days at Brent. He was formed intellectually and socially here, and he will always have fond memories of his time at Brent.
--Victoria, Filipino-Spanish, grade 12 child

My grade three son has matured socially during the past two years. I think being at a school with such a diversity of students has helped enormously.

The ability of the school to involve the parents in the student's schooling is the best I have seen. Events in which parents provide the key roles have been great, particularly with the younger students.

We are currently deciding whether to relocate out of the Philippines; both our children are trying to persuade us otherwise. This is because of the relationships they have formed at Brent both with students and teachers.
--Andy, British, grades 1 and 3 children

I do not think our three kids would be the critical thinkers they are today if not for Brent School and its highly qualified faculty.  All three kids are confident speakers and writers who can discuss a wide range of topics with kids as well as adults.

What I like the most about Brent is that majority of the kids from here are well rounded individuals- analytical and global thinkers, leaders as well as followers, sporty, charitable, prayerful... They are very balanced and all aspects of their personalities are developed.

My kids wouldn’t think of being anywhere else but here. They find the teachers approachable, the administrators protective and the staff helpful. They enjoy their bus ride to and from school with the helpful assistance of the drivers and bus moms. They feel safe, challenged, and that they are getting a good education.

Another strength of Brent is its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).  The selflessness and generosity of the parents who share their time, treasures and talents are inspiring. I have been with the PTA for 6 years. The PTA of Brent is like no other!
--Therese, Filipino, grades 10, 5, and 2 children

My child has grown at Brent by building up self-confidence and self-esteem. Brent provides various activities and the kids have fun!
--Mi Jin, Korean, grades 4 and 3 children

My son is more into sports than before, and he's more health conscious. My daughter loves to read now more than before. We appreciate Brent's sense of community, that the students are well rounded, and that students learn to be independent and responsible at an early age. My children are enjoying Brent, and they look forward to field trips and participating in the out of school activities.
--Rino, Filipino, grades 2 and 9 children

My son is growing is social development, academic skills, critical thinking and active learning. Brent is very open and in touch with parents regarding their child's development. Parents are very involved with the school and my son is so happy to be at Brent and in this school environment.
--Michelle, Filipino, Nursery child
